Objectives
The Level 1 Health and Safety Representative Training Course aims to provide health and safety representatives with a range of basic skills which will enable them to effectively and responsibly represent their work group in matters relating to occupational health, safety and welfare.
In particular, participants will;
- develop the skills and confidence to enable health and safety representatives to participate effectively and constructively in workplace consultation and develop positive attitudes to occupational health and safety
- provide health and safety representatives with a working knowledge of the Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Act 1986, other relevant legislation and approved Codes of Practice
- assist health and safety representatives to understand the principles of hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control.
