What is Transport Logistics?
The transport and distribution industry can be characterised as an enormous
system of ports, roads, railways, freight yards, airports, distribution centres
and material handling equipment hire facilities.
Within this there is a chain of ships, load-shifting equipment, trucks, trains,
warehouses and planes. The industry spreads through cities and rural areas,
linking large and small enterprises.
The industry services almost all other industry sectors. It is the artery of
the Australian economy.
Some 390,000 people are employed in the industry and truck driving is the single
largest full time occupation for Australian Males.

the fastest growing new apprenticeship in Australia.
